Adult Prophylaxis (Dental Cleaning)
A dental cleaning is the process of removing plaque biofilm (bacteria) that accumulate on your teeth both above and below the gum tissue. Getting your teeth cleaned is recommended twice per year to help prevent periodontal disease. In some instances, cleanings three or four times a year may be suggested based on your periodontal needs. Periodontal disease has been linked with diabetes and heart disease among other systemic health conditions. Dr. Frost and our Dental Hygienists will discuss these recommendations with you at every dental visit.
